What is market data?

Your view of North American exchanges

Market data gives you the information you need to see the big picture in the major North American markets. The data provides the last price, change and the latest bid and ask price. This information is displayed in the level 1 quote area of the stock or option quote tab, watch list and level 1 gadget.

Market data for every level of trading

No matter your needs, we’ve got you covered. Every self-directed account comes with free real-time snap quotes on all platforms. Plus, our (free) Edge platforms also offer real-time streaming data, so your quotes refresh on their own. You’ll find real-time streaming Level 1 data for stocks and ETFs listed on the following exchanges:

  • TSX
  • TSXV
  • NASDAQ (via CBOE One Summary)
  • NYSE (via CBOE One Summary)
  • NYSE AMEX (via CBOE One Summary)

How to get market data

Log in and choose your package

If you’re ready to choose a market data plan, it’s easy to get started. Log into your Questrade account, go to Account Management and select Market data from the drop-down menu.

Please note that if you’re just interested in the free package, you don’t need to sign up for anything as it comes with your account automatically. You can find more details on what’s in the free package below.
